Colitrix
• PRESENTATION
A Colitrix: is an oral solution contining colstin sulphate, which belonged to polypeptide antibiotics. Colistin has gram negative spectrum, with bactericidal action on susceptible microoganism like: Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella and pseudomonas. Colistin produce its action by interactwith the phospholipids within the cell membrane and penetrate it, causing permeability changes within the cell, which result in cell death. Colistin is not absorbed to any extent from the GIT when administereted orally.
• INDICATIONS
Chickens: For the treatment of intestinal caused by escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. and other intestinlal infections caused by gram negative colistin sensitive bacteria.
• COMPOSITION
Each one ml contains: 240 mg Colistin sulphate. (Eq. to Colistin base 192 mg = 5760000 IU)
• DOSAGE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Route of administration: orally via drinking water for active ingredient: Chicken: 3 mg colistinsulphate / kg B.wtwice per day. For 5-7 days. For whole product: Chicken: 0.0125 ml COLITRIX / kg B wtwice per day For. 5-7 days. 0.5 ml COLITRIX / 40 kg B.wtwice per day. For 5-7 days 0.0156 ML. COLITRIX / 2 Liters of drinking water for 5-7 days.
• CONTRA –INDICATION
if after 3 days of treatment, no significant improvement of the illness have occurred, arevision of the diagnosis should be performed and if necessary, a change of treatment.
Colistin is incompatible with ampicillin, Cephalosporins, Erythromycin and Kanamycin.
• WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

No sThere is no evidence of Tylosin toxicity in chickens , Turkeys, or claves when administered orally at up to three times the recommended dose.
