Certiforte 

• PRESENTATION

Ceftiforte is a new-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, sterile powder for injection, containing “Ceftior Sodium”

• COMPOSITION

Each vial contains: Ceftiofur Sodium. Eq. to 4 gm Ceftiofur Mixing instructions for 4 gm vial: Reconstitute by adding 80 ml sterile water for injection. Each 1 ml of reconstituted solution contains: Ceftiofur Sodium, equivalent to 50 mg Ceftiofur.

• USES

Day-old-chicks & Day-old-turkey poult: for the control of early mortality associated with E. Coli organisms susceptible to Ceftiofur. Cattle: for treatment of bovine respiratory disease (shipping fever, pneumonia) associated with Haemophillus somnus, Mannheimia haemolytica, and pasteurella multocida. Ceftiforte Sterile powder is also indicated for the treatment of acute bovine interdigital necrobacillosis (foot rot, pododermatitis) associated with Bacteroides melaninogenicus and fusobacterium. Horse: for treatment of respiratory infectious in horse streptococcus zooepidemicus.

• DOSAGE & ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION

Day-old-chicks: Administer only by subcutaneous injection in the neck region of day-old-chicks at the dose of 0.08 – 0.2 mg Ceftiofur per chick (eq. 0.16 ml to 0.4 ml of reconstituted sterile solution) 1 ml of the 50 mg / ml reconstituted solution will treat approximately 250 – 625 day-old-chicks. A sterile 26 gauge needle and syringe or properly cleaned automatic injection machine should be used. Can be used with vaccine Marek’s disease. Cattle: 1 mg / Kg b.w. given once daily for 5 days in respiratory disease and 3 days in case of foul in the foot. Horses: 2 mg / Kg body weight given once daily for 48 hours and a 10 day treatment period is repeated.

• Withdrawal period

• STORAGE

Store unreconstituted product in refrigerator 2° to 8° c any reconstituted product remaining 24 hours after preparation should be discarded protect from light.

• Contra-indications

It may cause in horses acute diarrhea.
